Case Lala: 3 Victims Removed From Harm

Case Lala began in September 2020 when an undercover investigator discovered a network of karaoke bars managed by Hmong hill tribe leaders. Inside the karaoke bars there were underage girls offering sex for 1,500 Thai Baht (50.00 USD). These girls were as young as 13 years old.

IMF investigators worked to gather enough evidence and then handed it over to local police. The local police requested IMF’s social workers and investigators to deploy with them. As a result of the deployment, 3 underage girls were removed from harm and IMF social workers ensured that they were brought to shelters where our team can continue to monitor them. These girls have been traumatized and will need the best care to give them the best chance of success in rehabilitating.

The case is not closed yet as arrests are yet to be made and a number of victims still need to be removed from harm.

We will update you as this case progresses.
